Chemnitz, 27.02.2020 – Today the international project team started the work. Project partners are FAUN Viatec GmbH, FusionSystems GmbH, NAVENTIK GmbH, Trillium Secure Inc, New Eagle Inc and the network of automotive suppliers Saxony. The project is being carried out as part of the funding measure „Internationalization of Leading-Edge Clusters, Future Projects and Comparable Networks“, in which the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports research activities in the field of future technologies and internationalization. The target is the development of a smart sweeper that drives autonomously and cleans the road space automatically.

The German-American partners of the Transatlantic Automated Driving Alliance (TADA) celebrated the successful completion of the a.sweep project at the end of September with great media impact.
Street cleaning vehicles travel at low speeds and on defined routes. Due to these characteristics and against the background of a growing shortage of personnel, the use of self-propelled sweepers is an option here. Saxon and US companies have developed such a vehicle in the “Transatlantic Automated Driving Alliance” (TADA).
On January 18, 2022, Michigan USA, AMZ Sachsen and its partners Faun Viatec GmbH from Grimma (DE) and New Eagle (US) took part in a milestone meeting of the “Autonomous Street Sweeper” project – the first demonstration drive of the street sweeper – at the American Center for Mobility in Ypsilanti, Township. Project manager Thomas Keltsch (AMZ) and his colleague Alexander Helbych (AMZ) are delighted that this important step was taken in the USA.
